Assistant Controller – Law Firm | On-site in Newport Beach

We’ve partnered with a fast-growing, high-energy law firm headquartered in Newport Beach that’s doubling revenue year over year. They’re now building out their accounting leadership and are hiring an Assistant Controller to take the reins on trust accounting, reporting, and internal controls.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead trust accounting operations (60% of role)
• Review disbursements, settlements, wire transfers
• Handle 3-way reconciliations, audits, and compliance with State Bar trust rules
• Support month-end close, financial reporting, payroll, AP/AR
• Collaborate on KPIs, dashboards, and internal systems improvements

You're a fit if you have:

• 4–6 years of accounting experience, ideally in a law firm (personal injury is a plus)
• Strong trust accounting knowledge
• Leadership experience with both onsite and remote teams
• Detail-oriented and passionate about building a top-tier accounting function

Comp:

• $140K base + performance bonus
