Job summary

Mortenson seeks an experienced Senior Superintendent I to lead on-site construction activities across multiple projects in North Carolina, including Butner and the Charlotte region. The role demands proactive leadership, coordination across departments, and strong safety and quality focus.

You will supervise crews, partner with Project Managers on budgeting and scheduling, and ensure resources are available to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 15+ years construction experience.
• 15+ years of construction experience.
• 10+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with solar or large industrial power projects.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and teams.
• Knowledge of Mortenson policies and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall construction activities and task assignments.
• Interface with departments to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the schedule.
• Budget, forecast, and manage labor, equipment, materials, and tools.
• Review documents for completeness and constructability.
• Develop and update project schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Coordinate plans with engineers and resolve discrepancies.
• Lead site utilization planning and crew sizing.
• Supervise and mentor field personnel and supervision staff.
• Conduct pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings.
• Develop leadership potential and career growth for team members.
• Implement safety programs and manage site safety.
