Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for the DFW Central Division located in Richardson, TX. This role supports the Superintendent in scheduling, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery of homes.

The position requires strong communication, plan-reading ability, and a customer-focused approach, with opportunities to grow within a Fortune 500 homebuilder.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months to 2 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive to sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and construction documents.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with MS Office and emails.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect homes daily to ensure quality and schedule alignment.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walkthrough and closing.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and address items.
• Assist Superintendent in managing subcontractors for quality, safety, cost.
• Enforce site safety program and subcontractor compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness standards on communities and jobsites.
• Assist in managing construction materials to prevent damage and loss.
• Support schedule and deliver high-quality product on time and within budget.
• Provide superior customer service through all construction phases.
• Develop relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Develop knowledge of building codes and construction materials.
