Job summary

TMG Construction Corporation in Leesburg, VA seeks an Assistant Project Manager who can manage cradle‑to‑grave life cycles of small commercial or institutional design/build projects and support larger efforts across delivery methods such as IDIQ, lump-sum, design/build and fast-track.

You will coordinate project controls, shop drawings, changes, estimates, and schedules while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management.
• 2-3 years of experience with a commercial/industrial general contractor, or 5 years with no degree.
• IDIQ contracting experience preferred.
• Experience estimating and managing self-performed work.
• Understanding of construction means/methods for renovation of commercial/institutional buildings.

Responsibilities

• Create, update and maintain project controls for status, changes, RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, quality, safety and financial performance.
• Review and process shop drawings and submittals documenting the construction process.
• Manage change management by updating logs, obtaining pricing, and writing change orders.
• Assist estimating via quantity surveys using digitizers, 3D modeling software, and traditional methods.
• Establish and monitor project schedules using contemporary scheduling software.
• Support layout and spatial relationships using CAD and coordinate shop drawings.
• Negotiate contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Produce reports using Project Center, USACE QCS/RMS, Prolog and client workflows.
