Job summary

TMG Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Virginia to manage cradle-to-grave lifecycle of small commercial/institutional design/build projects or support larger projects across IDIQ, lump-sum, design/build, and fast-track methods.

You will coordinate with subcontractors, SMEs, and internal teams, develop schedules, review shop drawings, and track costs, safety, and quality to ensure timely project completion.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 2-3 years of experience; or 5 years of related experience without a degree.
• Experience estimating and managing self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Understanding of renovation methods for commercial/institutional buildings.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain project controls for status, changes, RFIs, submittals, quality, safety, and financials.
• Review shop drawings with SMEs; support change management processes.
• Estimate quantities and prepare proposals; assist with cost savings.
• Develop and monitor project schedules using scheduling software.
• Coordinate layout with CAD; verify dimensional relationships and shop drawings.
• Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Generate reports using Project Center, USACE QCS/RMS, Prolog.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and regulations.
