Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks an Assistant Construction Manager to support field execution on utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. You will work with Construction Managers to drive safe, high-quality delivery and help develop field leadership teams.

Locations include Altoona, Kansas, with daily per diem and home rotations. Travel to project sites as required; compensation ranges from $110,000 to $140,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience on large-scale industrial, infrastructure, renewable energy, or utility construction projects.
• Experience coordinating work with superintendents, subcontractors, or multiple construction disciplines.
• Experience reviewing project schedules, budgets, contracts, change orders, or construction documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Construction Manager to support field execution across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
• Assist in developing and coaching Superintendent teams and promote accountability for results.
• Coordinate with Safety, Quality, Environmental, Logistics and Project Management teams.
• Monitor project performance related to safety, schedule, quality, cost and environmental compliance.
• Participate in weekly risk assessments and maintain the Risk & Opportunity log.
• Support environmental compliance activities including SWPPP requirements and permitting.
• Manage subcontractor performance including productivity, schedule adherence, safety, and contract compliance.
• Review subcontractor change orders, invoices, and documentation with project leadership to validate scope and costs.
• Develop and execute three-week look-ahead schedules and identify constructability/logistics challenges.
• Build strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders through proactive communication.
