Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, urban, regional or transportation planning or a closely related field, plus five years of progressively responsible transportation planning related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Criminal background and driving record checks required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the construction manager in providing construction oversight to ensure project delivery per scope, schedule, budget, and federal requirements.
• Support documentation, progress tracking, safety coordination, and field decision making for day-to-day construction activities.
• Monitor construction to ensure compliance with contract requirements, plans, schedules, budgets, and FTA grant obligations.
• Support procurement for quality assurance consultants and construction contractor for the Richmond Highway Bus Rapid Transit project.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to support field inspections, issue resolution, and daily construction oversight.
• Assist with risk management, issue resolution, and claims avoidance through documentation and communication with partners.
• Prepare technical briefs, construction updates, and status reports for leadership and elected officials.
• Attend public meetings and present project information to community stakeholders.
