Job summary

Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) seeks a motivated professional to manage and coordinate complex multimodal transportation projects within the ACTD. Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban, regional or transportation planning, or a closely related field; plus four years of professional experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check.
• Professional license/certification in engineering, planning, or architecture; PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews capital project feasibility studies, scope, cost estimates and schematic layouts for multimodal transportation improvements.
• Manages and reviews consultant transportation studies and designs to support decisions.
• Coordinates project plans with county departments, agencies, consultants and stakeholders; resolves issues.
• Develops schedules, monitors progress, and manages consultant contracts from scoping to completion.
• Produces technical reports, summaries, and presentations for community groups, leadership, and officials.
• Performs traffic safety analyses and reviews accident data; conducts site visits and meetings.
• Supports other divisions to advance Fairfax County’s multimodal goals.
