Job summary

Hines in San Francisco seeks an Assistant Community Manager - Multifamily to support the Community Manager in overseeing financial and operational tasks. You will handle rent collection, banking, reporting, and invoicing while maintaining strong resident relations and compliance with leases.

You will also coordinate maintenance, assist in owner communications, and help drive resident satisfaction with a focus on retention and service quality.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Two or more years of prior experience in property management or a related industry preferred.
• Experience with property management software; Entrada experience a plus.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of basic accounting practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work indoors approximately 95% of the time and outdoors 5% of the time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Occasionally be available 24/7 for emergencies and on-site operations during disasters.
• Flexibility to transfer properties and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Community Manager in overseeing financial and operational aspects of the community.
• Complete accounting and bookkeeping tasks, monthly close-out and financial reports.
• Post rent, collect payments, reconcile bank accounts, and process invoices.
• Review resident files, pursue delinquencies, and enforce leases to maximize revenue.
• Process evictions per required procedures and represent the community in court when needed.
• Coordinate vendor invoices and on-site maintenance tasks.
• Manage resident move-outs and ensure lease terms are met.
• Respond to resident inquiries and address service issues promptly.
• Assist in managing owner relationships and conduct community tours.
