Job summary

Fairfield Residential in Austin, TX is seeking an Assistant Community Manager – Affordable to support property operations, ensure LIHTC/HUD compliance, and deliver excellent customer service.

This role mentors leasing teams, drives resident satisfaction, and collaborates with the Community Manager in daily tasks. A strong background in LIHTC, Yardi, and housing regulations is required, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of residential leasing, sales, and/or property management experience required.
• Minimum of one year of LIHTC experience required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
• Experience in leadership and supervising a staff preferred.
• Experience using Yardi or other related property management accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong math and accounting skills.
• Understanding of financial statements (budget, financial reports, accounting information, etc.).
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local fair housing laws and provisions.

Responsibilities

• Lease apartments and respond to resident inquiries promptly.
• Promote resident satisfaction and retention.
• Mentor leasing team members and support the Community Manager in daily operations.
• Verify income and monitor rent limits for LIHTC and/or HUD programs.
• Use Yardi software to manage property financials.
• Complete bank deposits and account reconciliations.

About the Role

As an Assistant Community Manager – Affordable, you’ll play a key role in supporting property operations, ensuring compliance with affordable housing programs, and delivering exceptional customer service. What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Knowledge of IRS 8823 guide and HUD 4350.3 manual.
• Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) designation preferred if HUD property.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Estimated Rate of Pay

Estimated Rate of Pay: $22.32 - $25.06

This position is non-exempt; the range above reflects hourly rates.

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*.

This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any).>
