Description

Summary: The Assistant Community Manager supports the property by assisting the Community Manager in managing daily operations. Responsibilities include leasing, marketing, and resident relations for multi-family properties.

Job Summary:

Assists with overall property management, including financial and accounting duties.

Reports To:

Community Manager, Regional Property Supervisor, and/or Regional Vice President.

Supervises:

Onsite staff during the Community Manager’s absence.

Essential Functions:
  • Use approved leasing and credit reporting applications.
  • Process payments and track late payments in accordance with company policy.
  • Handle NSF/returned checks and delinquencies, including collections and evictions.
  • Complete final account statements and send collection files post-move-out.
  • Perform property leasing, marketing, and resident relations functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Training:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in multi-family property management.
Certificates and Memberships:
  • Preferred: NALP, COS, TCS, HQS, UPCS, LIHTC training.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in leasing, accounting, marketing, and customer service.
  • Supervisory skills for managing staff in absence of the Community Manager.
  • Effective communication, professionalism, and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency with office equipment, property management software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, OSHA, EEOC, and local ordinances.
