Job summary

SOLV Energy in Hawaii seeks an Assistant Commissioning Manager to lead planning, testing, and commissioning of HV, BESS, and PV assets on major renewable projects. You will work with the Commissioning Manager and engineers to ensure systems meet safety and performance standards and to drive on-site execution and timely project closeout.

This hybrid role requires on-site presence at job sites with some remote work, travel to project sites is expected, and candidates must be legally authorized to

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and commissioning on utility scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager, the status of each project assigned.
• Review technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements related to commissioning and assist with the development of a project milestone and deliverables list, project specific commissioning plan, and commissioning procedures.
• Communicate with the OEM suppliers regarding equipment specific testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with project teams, including engineering, construction, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment in all commissioning activities.
• Assist with the development of integrated P6 testing and commissioning schedules. Ensure that the integrated testing and commissioning schedule is updated weekly
• Assist with the development of the commissioning resource plan for the project.
• Review initial energization procedures and assist Commissioning Engineer with switching activities as requested.
• Identify, analyze, and recommend corrective actions to resolve technical issues identified during commissioning or initial operation.
• Support the development of standards and processes to improve business.
