Job summary

SOLV Energy seeks an Assistant Commissioning Manager to oversee testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV projects. The role requires coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are installed, tested, and commissioned safely and per project specs on a CA jobsite with travel.

You will guide commissioning teams, develop schedules and procedures, manage resources, and ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC and industry standards to deliver reliable renewable assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager the status of each project assigned.
• Review technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements related to commissioning and assist with developing project milestone and deliverables list.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers regarding equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure alignment of commissioning activities with engineering, construction, and QA teams.
• Develop and maintain integrated testing schedules and commissioning plans; update weekly.
• Develop commissioning resource plan and review energization procedures.
• Identify, analyze, and recommend corrective actions to resolve issues during commissioning.
• Develop standards and processes to improve business; maintain lessons learned and warranty logs.
• Establish safety programs and ensure site compliance from cold commissioning through substantial completion.
