Job summary

Texas State University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Coach – Women's Gymnastics within the Texas State Athletic Department. This full-time, benefits-eligible role reports to the Head Women's Gymnastics Coach and is located in San Marcos, TX.

The assistant coach will coach student-athletes at practice and meets, recruit prospective athletes, create tailored training plans, contribute to routine construction, and participate in PR, marketing, and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of intercollegiate rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of general university policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct training for women's gymnastics student-athletes.
  • Skill in the assessment and recruitment of prospective women's gymnastics student-athletes.
  • Previous experience in coaching collegiate gymnastics.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching student-athletes during practice and meets.
  • Assessing prospective student-athletes.
  • Creating individualized training plans for each student-athlete on various events.
  • Developing overall routine construction.
  • Participating in public relations, marketing and fundraising for the program and athletic department.
  • Retaining current student-athletes by fostering a positive culture and connection to the university.
  • Assisting with summer camps and clinics.
  • Complying with NCAA and Texas State University rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach.
