Job summary

College of Lake County (CLC) in Grayslake, IL invites applications for a part-time Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball. The role supports the Head Coach in player development, training, performance analysis, and recruiting, while coordinating with the athletics staff to foster a positive, inclusive program.

Responsibilities include organizing drills, conducting individual and team instruction, game-day support, and helping with travel and scheduling.

• Previous coaching or playing experience.
• Technical knowledge of the sport of basketball.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required.

Position Title: Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball

Job Summary: The Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball, supports the Head Basketball Coach by overseeing all aspects of player development, including training, performance analysis, and recruiting. This position works collaboratively within the coaching staff to ensure the holistic development of all players within the program.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Coaching and Training:

• Assisting with practice sessions, including organizing drills and teaching skills.
• Providing individual and group instruction to players.
• Developing and implementing training programs.

Game Day Support:

• Assisting with game strategy and preparation.
• Providing support during games, including issuing instructions and advice to players.
• Analyzing game performance and providing feedback to the head coach.

Recruiting and Team Management:

• Assisting with recruiting efforts, including scouting potential players and contacting them.
• Supporting athletes' academic and personal development.
• Managing equipment and supplies.

Administrative Tasks:

• Recording statistics and data.
• Communicating with parents and other stakeholders.
• Scheduling games and travel arrangements.

Other Duties:

• Maintaining knowledge of the sport and coaching techniques.
• Ensuring compliance with all team, league, and institution rules.
• Maintaining a positive and inclusive team environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous coaching or playing experience.

Compensation $7,500.00/yearly stipend

Schedule Hours will vary based on the athletic calendar and departmental priorities.
