Job summary

College of Lake County is seeking an Assistant Coach for Baseball to support the Head Coach in player development, training, performance analysis, and recruiting. The role works with the coaching staff to ensure holistic development of all players within the program.

The position requires prior coaching or playing experience, strong baseball knowledge, and a valid driver's license. It is a part-time role on the Grayslake Campus with a 20-hour work week and a stipend supporting faculty-level

Qualifications

• Previous coaching or playing experience.
• Technical knowledge of the sport of baseball.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and Training: Assisting with practice sessions, including organizing drills and teaching skills.
• Game Day Support: Assisting with game strategy and preparation and providing feedback during games.
• Recruiting and Team Management: Assisting with scouting, contacting potential players, and managing equipment.
• Administrative Tasks: Recording statistics and coordinating scheduling and travel.
• Other Duties: Maintaining knowledge of coaching techniques and a positive team environment.

Job Summary

Job Description Summary The Assistant Coach for Baseball, supports the Head Baseball Coach by overseeing all aspects of player development, including training, performance analysis, and recruiting. This position works collaboratively within the coaching staff to ensure the holistic development of all players within the program.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Coaching and Training: Assisting with practice sessions, including organizing drills and teaching skills. Providing individual and group instruction to players. Developing and implementing training programs.
• Game Day Support: Assisting with game strategy and preparation. Providing support during games, including issuing instructions and advice to players. Analyzing game performance and providing feedback to the head coach.
• Recruiting and Team Management: Assisting with recruiting efforts, including scouting potential players and contacting them. Supporting athletes' academic and personal development. Managing equipment and supplies.
• Administrative Tasks: Recording statistics and data. Communicating with parents and other stakeholders. Scheduling games and travel arrangements.
• Other Duties: Maintaining knowledge of the sport and coaching techniques. Ensuring compliance with all team, league, and institution rules. Maintaining a positive and inclusive team environment.
