Job summary

Profound Research in San Diego is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to support high-volume vaccine trials on-site. You will gain hands-on experience in study coordination, patient interaction, data collection, and clinical procedures in a fast-paced setting.

You’ll work alongside experienced staff, learning to apply GCP and documentation standards while contributing to meaningful patient-focused research.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical degree with 3+ years of life sciences experience, OR Associate’s with 1+ year, OR Bachelor’s with related coursework.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Clear, professional communication with patients, caregivers, clinical staff, and internal team members.
• Proficient with standard computer tools; able to learn new systems quickly.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and care when working with patients.

Responsibilities

• Support the coordination of high-volume vaccine clinical trials, including patient visits, scheduling, and study procedures.
• Assist with data collection and documentation while learning to apply Good Clinical Practice standards.
• Perform and develop competency in clinical procedures including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen processing.
• Prepare for and support efficient participant visits, including rooming patients and organizing supplies.
• Interact with study participants, explaining visit steps and addressing questions within scope.
• Collaborate with coordinators and site leadership, seeking feedback and expanding knowledge.
• Follow study protocols, SOPs, and infection control expectations to ensure audit-ready trial execution.
• Maintain organized study materials, supplies, and lab workflows for patient visits and site operations.
