Job summary

The City of Anna, Texas is seeking an Assistant City Engineer to manage daily CIP activities, perform plan reviews, and conduct construction inspections. You will coordinate staff efforts on project identification and design, and assist in evaluating development impacts on infrastructure, working with senior Public Works leadership.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Engineering or related field, a Texas PE license, and experience with AutoCAD and GIS, plus a valid Texas Class C license and

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mathematics, or other science approved by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
• Must possess a Professional Engineering License in the State of Texas.
• Must be familiar with AutoCAD and GIS.
• Must possess a valid Class "C" Driver's License at the time of employment.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision of the City Engineer, manage daily activities in CIP, assessment, and plan review, and perform construction inspections.
• Coordinate operations of assigned staff on identification and design of projects.
• Assist with evaluating the impact of development on existing infrastructure and support long-range planning with the City Engineer and Public Works leadership.
• Work closely with the Director of Public Works and Assistant Director of Public Works to assess engineering design needs for long-range planning.

DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of the City Engineer, the Assistant City Engineer will be responsible for daily activities in management, assessment, and plan review of Capital Improvement Program (CIP) as well as construction inspections. The Assistant City Engineer will coordinate the operations of assigned staff, on identification and design of projects and assist with evaluating the impact of development on existing infrastructure. This position will work closely with the City Engineer, Director of Public Works and Assistant Director of Public Works, in assessing and evaluating engineering design needs for long-range planning.

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mathematics, or other science approved by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, plus 6 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must possess Basic: Database, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing skill.
• Must possess a Professional Engineering License in the State of Texas.
• Must be familiar with AutoCAD and GIS.
• Must possess a valid Class "C" Driver's License at the time of employment.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.
