Job summary

The City of Anna, Texas, is seeking a Utilities Supervisor to plan, supervise, and review the activities and operations of the city water and wastewater system. You will oversee utility crews, perform day-to-day planning, and ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with 5 years related experience and 2 years of supervisory experience, licenses in water and wastewater, and a Texas CDL within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with at least 5 years related experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Licenses: Class C or equivalent in water and wastewater within 12 months of hire; Texas Class A CDL within 12 months; Texas class C driver's license.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; Class B or equivalent in water and wastewater preferred; CSI license or obtain within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and review activities and operations of the city utilities section.
• Oversee utility crews in operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater system.
• Train employees and complete department records and documents; ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.

DESCRIPTION

To plan, supervise and review the activities and operations of a city utilities section, and ensure that all assigned operations fully meet or exceed customer needs and comply with State and Federal regulations. This position will perform technical tasks in the operation and/or maintenance of the city water and wastewater system (Utilities). The position is responsible for overseeing and leading utility crews in the operation and maintenance of the Utility system, performing and planning day-to-day activities, training of employees, and completion of department related records and documents.

High school or GED, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic: 10-Key, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing is required.
Class C or equivalent license in both water and wastewater within 12 months of hire.
Must possess a valid Texas Class A CDL license within 12 months of hire.
Must possess a valid Texas class C driver's license.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Class B or equivalent license in both water and wastewater is preferred.
Customer Service Inspector (CSI) License or obtain within 3 years of employment /promotion.
