Job summary

The City of Anna is seeking a skilled automotive technician to maintain its fleet, diagnose and repair heavy and light-duty equipment, and perform related administrative tasks. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of experience, and hold a Class A CDL and ASE certification (or obtain within 12 months).

Applicants must possess a Texas driver's license and pass standard pre-employment screenings including CJIS clearance. Basic word processing/typing is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least three years of paid automotive experience with diagnostics and repairs on heavy and light-duty equipment.
• Must possess and maintain a Class A CDL or obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Must possess at least one ASE Certification or obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Must have Texas driver's license.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background, MVR check and CJIS clearance.
• Basic Word Processing/Typing is required.

DESCRIPTION

Performs semi-skilled, skilled, technical, and administrative work in maintaining the vehicles and mechanical equipment of the City of Anna.

High school or GED, with at least three (3) years of paid professional experience in automotive mechanical work requiring heavy and light-duty equipment diagnostics and repairs.

Basic: Word Processing/Typing is required.

Must possess and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or can obtain within 12 months of hire or promotion.

Must possess at least one (1) Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification or can obtain within 12 months of hire or promotion.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Texas Driver's License.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.

Must be able to successfully complete Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance.
