Qualifications

• Effective communication in English; consistent attendance and the ability to work extra hours for critical projects when necessary.
• A flexible attitude and willingness to learn new skills and processes.
• Good mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• General handiness and the ability to address and fix issues effectively.
• Familiarity with safety procedures including lockout / tagout and confined space protocols.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Proven experience in maintaining and repairing industrial machines.
• Proficiency with electrical systems ranging from 24v to 480v, including electronic controls, power supplies, wiring, motors, and transformers.
• Industrial plumbing experience, with an understanding of pump systems.
• Background in wastewater treatment and effluent systems.
• Knowledge of steam plant operations, including familiarity with pumps and valves.
• Candidates should either possess or be willing to obtain a City of Chicago boiler license and pass related tests within 12 months.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, masonry, and building materials.
