Job summary

JLL is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer in Dallas, TX, to oversee building systems, lead the engineering team, and ensure safe, efficient operation.

The role requires 3–5 years in repair/maintenance fields, trade school or equivalent, and leadership experience. On-site presence is required; certifications like Universal CFC EPA are preferred. This full-time position includes comprehensive benefits and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Leadership and/or supervisory experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 feet.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct contractors and monitor performance.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in the formulation and implementation of the preventive maintenance program.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in training and supervision to expand the engineering team.
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) and complete tenant service requests.
• Support monthly/quarterly operations and mechanical reports.
• Respond to emergencies and communicate with client and tenants.
• Perform maintenance tasks (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, etc.).
• Conduct facility inspections and due diligence.
• Comply with all safety policies and hazardous material handling.
• Participate in technical, safety, and operational training programs.
