Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team and oversee operations and maintenance for client facilities in Round Rock, TX. You will supervise staff, manage preventive maintenance, and coordinate with vendors to ensure high system reliability.

The role focuses on troubleshooting complex HVAC and electrical systems, implementing safety practices, and maintaining building automation platforms to optimize occupant comfort and efficiency

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on building engineering or facilities maintenance experience.
• Universal CFC (EPA) certification.
• Ability to read blueprints, single line diagrams, specifications, O&M manuals, and sequence of operations.
• Excellent communication skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and CMMS.
• Valid clean driver's license and ability to pass DMV background check for operating site vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical guidance to engineering staff on mechanical systems, electrical systems, control systems, life safety systems, and safety procedures
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, and air distribution systems
• Conduct comprehensive building system inspections covering fire alarm panels, HVAC equipment, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance
• Monitor and troubleshoot building automation systems (BMS/EMS) for equipment operations, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions
• Manage preventive maintenance assignments through the CMMS system (Corrigo), ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation of all work
• Respond to emergency situations on-site and coordinate repairs to critical systems including electrical distribution, emergency power, and life safety equipment
• Perform daily rounds and readings of plant equipment, data center systems, generators, and mechanical/electrical rooms while maintaining detailed maintenance records
