Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Category Manager in Kentucky. You'll assist Category Managers with product selection, line reviews, advertising, inventory levels, and supplier negotiations to drive profitable growth, using reports to improve sales, gross margin, and GMROI.

You'll collaborate across Purchasing, Accounting, Store Operations, Marketing, and Pricing to implement category strategies, under supervision, then take ownership of lines as you prove proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Strong analytical ability and numbers-driven decision making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to engage in extensive product training.

Responsibilities

• Perform product line analysis and present recommendations to the Product Manager and Director.
• Assist Category Managers with promotional planning and execution.
• Communicate with stores and other departments to ensure flawless merchandising execution.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Accounting, Store Operations, DC Operations, Sales, Marketing/Advertising, Inventory Control, and Pricing.
• Make strategic business plan recommendations using internal reports and supplier negotiations.
