Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Category Manager to support profitability across assigned product lines. The role involves analyzing product lines, planning promotions, and coordinating with stores and departments to ensure seamless merchandising execution.

You will collaborate with Category Managers, negotiate with suppliers, and use reports to identify opportunities to improve sales, gross margin, and GMROI.

Qualifications

• Must have BS or BBA in Business Administration.
• Analytical and mathematical skills required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Willing to engage in self-study and group training on negotiating techniques.
• Willing to commit to extensive product training.

Responsibilities

• Perform product line analysis (unit sales trends, GP dollars, GMROI) and present recommendations to the Product Manager and Director.
• Assist Category Managers with promotional planning and execution.
• Communicate with stores and other departments to ensure flawless execution of merchandising projects.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Accounting, Store Operations, DC Operations, Sales, Marketing/Advertising, Inventory Control, and Pricing.
• Make recommendations for strategic business plans using internal reports and supplier negotiations.
