URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. in Philadelphia is seeking an Assistant Business Analyst to support Buying and Planning with reporting, analytics, systems, and process improvement. You will help maintain data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to streamline day-to-day workflows.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and curious, with interest in retail and a desire to build technical skills while learning how data and systems inform Buying and Planning decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and critical thinking with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Retail industry background with analytics and ad hoc reporting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel; exposure to BI/data visualization tools and basic SQL knowledge.
• Curious, proactive, eager to learn new systems and improve processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Interest in retail and subscription-based business models with quick learning ability.
• Clear communicator able to collaborate across teams and take feedback.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Buying and Planning teams to support day-to-day reporting, analytics, and system needs with strong accuracy.
• Support recurring and ad hoc reporting and analysis using Excel, Google Sheets, BI tools (Looker, BigQuery) and planning systems (o9).
• Own assigned recurring reports, data audits and scrubs, investigate discrepancies and escalate as needed.
• Support system and reporting QA by testing outputs, documenting issues, and tracking fixes.
• Maintain and update documentation, SOPs, and training materials for planning and reporting tools.
• Develop a foundational understanding of Buying/Planning processes and KPIs informing decisions.
