Nuuly is seeking an Assistant Business Analyst to support the Buying and Planning teams across reporting, analytics, systems, and process improvement. This role will help maintain data accuracy, troubleshoot reporting and system issues, support business analysis, and identify opportunities to improve day-to-day workflows.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and curious, with an interest in retail and a desire to build technical skills while learning how data and systems support

Qualifications

• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in retail analytics or supporting Buying/Planning teams.
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with BI tools and basic SQL.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Buying and Planning teams to support day-to-day reporting, analytics, and system needs.
• Support recurring and ad hoc reporting and analysis using Excel, Google Sheets, BI tools (e.g., Looker, BigQuery), and planning systems (e.g., o9).
• Own assigned recurring reports, data audits, and scrubs, investigating discrepancies and escalating issues as needed.
• Support system and reporting QA by testing outputs, documenting issues, submitting and tracking tickets, and validating fixes.
• Maintain and update documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for planning and reporting tools.
• Develop a foundational understanding of Buying and Planning processes and the KPIs that support decision-making.

Role Summary

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and curious, with an interest in retail and a desire to build their technical skills while learning how data and systems support Buying and Planning decisions.

Role Responsibilities

• Partner with Buying and Planning teams to support day-to-day reporting, analytics, and system needs, with strong attention to detail when working with large datasets.
• Support recurring and ad hoc reporting and analysis using Excel, Google Sheets, BI tools (e.g., Looker, BigQuery), and planning systems (e.g., o9).
• Own assigned recurring reports, data audits, and scrubs, investigating discrepancies and escalating issues as needed.
• Support system and reporting QA by testing outputs, documenting issues, submitting and tracking tickets, and validating fixes.

Role Qualifications

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Background in the retail industry or a similar field, with strong analytics and ad hoc reporting experience, ideally supporting operational or buying/planning teams.
• Proficiency in Excel; exposure to BI or data visualization tools and basic SQL knowledge, and demonstrated initiative and interest in developing these technical skills.
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new systems, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to improve existing processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Genuine interest in retail and subscription-based business model, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Clear and effective communicator who is comfortable collaborating across teams, asking thoughtful questions, and incorporating feedback.
