Dieterich Bank is looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to join our team at our Newton branch.

Assistant Branch Managers are the first line of assistance to the front-line retail banking staff. This position is responsible for building loyalty to the organization, training, and overseeing front-line tasks. Assistant Branch Managers are responsible for addressing compliance and task-related performance issues by offering assistance, retraining, and oversight as necessary. They gladly perform front-line duties as needed and in a manner that consistently models Dieterich Bank's standards of superior quality and service and are fully compliant with industry regulations.

• Train employees on all front-line tasks.
• Contribute to the performance appraisal process of front-line staff by providing input to the Branch Manager as needed.
• Demonstrate the ability to independently make and communicate sound decisions based upon Bank policies, knowledge, and experience.
• Verify that all policies and procedures are followed and that the risk of fraud is minimized.
• Support the business development and community involvement of every Dieterich Bank representative in regard to staffing, coverage, etc.
• Recommend new products/services, systems/policies, etc. to improve Bank performance.
• Ensure that Bank policies and procedures as well as industry regulations are met.
• Exercise good judgment and be alert to possible fraud.
• Craft a culture that includes a positive work atmosphere of mutual respect.
• Manage multiple tasks and respond to pressure and change with poise and confidence.
• Support the Retail Banking Manager on reaching performance goals both individually and at the branch level.
• Assist other branches as needed for staffing which may include travel.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer and employee information.

Work Schedule

This position requires 40 hours each week with a Saturday rotation based on the needs of the branch.

Education and Experience

• Associates degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service with banking experience being a plus, but not required
