Job summary

Deer Creek School District seeks an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the DCMS program. The coach will teach athletes the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training needed for team success while modeling sportsmanship and character.

The role reports to the athletic director and collaborates with staff to implement policies, schedules, and events. Prior coaching experience and a commitment to safety and positive youth development are expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports).
• Head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and continually examine new theories and procedures.
• Head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Has thorough knowledge of all athletic policies and ensures staff adherence.
• Understands system, state and league regulations and interprets them for staff.
• Maintains proper administrative lines of command and communicates through proper channels.
