Job summary

Sheppard Pratt School Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school in Cumberland, MD, serving students K-12 with emotional disabilities and autism. The role supports students under a licensed behavior analyst, focusing on implementing BIPs and data collection to monitor progress.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school dedicated to providing year-round educational, vocational, and daily living services to students in grades K-12. What to expect

You will work under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst to implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and provide support to students with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.

Specific responsibilities include

• Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized intervention plans (BIPs).
• Collecting and accurately recording data on client behavior during intervention sessions.
• Assisting in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and ongoing assessments to monitor progress.
• Providing training and support to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques and intervention strategies.
• Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

What we need from you

• One of the following combinations of education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience.
• Associate degree and 2 years of related experience.
• High school degree or GED and 4 years of related experience.

• Must meet Sheppard Pratt's requirements to operate a company vehicle:

• Be 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Driving record with 2 points or less for the most 3 recent years of driving history.
