Job summary

Located on our historic campus in Towson, Maryland, Sheppard Pratt School and Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved, level V nonpublic school. We offer a year-round therapeutic educational and residential program catering to youths ages 12-18 with emotional and behavioral challenges.

Our comprehensive program offers structured community and recreational activities alongside full-day special and general education schooling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience.
  • Associate degree and 2 years of related experience.
  • High school degree or GED and 4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Collect data on client behavior during intervention sessions.
  • Assist in conducting FBAs and ongoing assessments to monitor progress.
  • Provide training and support to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques and intervention strategies.
  • Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Description

What to expect.

You will work under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst to implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and provide support to students with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Collecting and accurately recording data on client behavior during intervention sessions.
  • Assisting in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and ongoing assessments to monitor progress.
  • Providing training and support to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques and intervention strategies.
  • Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

The pay range for this position is $19.36/hr minimum - $28.70/hr maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.

What we need from you.

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience.
  • Associate degree and 2 years of related experience.
  • High school degree or GED and 4 years of related experience.
  • Must meet Sheppard Pratt's requirements to operate a company vehicle:
    • Be 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
    • Having a valid driver's license.
    • Driving record with 2 points or less for the 3 most recent years of driving history.
