SusieCakes Bakery in Los Angeles is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead guest service teams, train staff, and assist the General Manager across multiple locations.

You will inspire a welcoming, hospitality-driven culture, manage daily operations, and help achieve bakery performance metrics.

This role requires leadership experience in luxury or retail, strong communication, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Two years of managerial/leadership experience in the luxury, hospitality, food service and/or retail industries.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exposure to financial and operational accountability.

Responsibilities

• Inspires, trains, and supports the guest service team and assists the General Manager for multiple locations.
• Develops objectives and plans with leadership to improve bakery success metrics.

Our bakeries are filled with the delicious tastes and sweet smells of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, and bars – all baked from scratch, on-site daily, using the freshest and finest ingredients. Our signature Celebration Cake is a birthday staple on tens of thousands of tables. The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a manager‑in‑training role. The AGM inspires, trains, and supports the guest service team and assists the General Manager with guest service needs for multiple locations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent walking, kneeling, bending and reaching overhead
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two years of managerial/leadership experience in the luxury, hospitality, food service and/or retail industries
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and team‑building skills
• Ability to train, coach, and counsel team members
• Exposure to financial and operational accountability
• Ability to work in multiple regional locations
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule according to business needs
• Must have reliable transportation

EDUCATION

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Hospitality preferred
• High school diploma or GED required

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English

OTHER

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Approx. 47.5 hour anticipated work schedule per week
