The Computer, Electrical, and Software Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer Engineering for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
Interest and ability to teach introductory undergraduate computer engineering courses and laboratories is essential, and experience with aviation/aerospace applications is highly desirable. Quality teaching and laboratory instruction is the primary responsibility for this position. Additional responsibilities may include recruiting students, advising and mentoring undergraduates, course and program assessment, and university/community service. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, and a strong command of English are required.
The department is part of the College of Engineering, which also includes Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Departments. Opportunities for inter-departmental teaching and research are available, including labs supporting VR/AR/XR development, motion and face capture, and collaboration across programs. Our accredited undergraduate engineering programs prepare students for careers in aerospace companies and graduate schools nationwide.
The successful candidate should have an earned doctorate in computer engineering or a related field. A master's degree in computer engineering or equivalent, along with extensive industry experience, is also acceptable. Preferred expertise includes Embedded AI, Chips Design, Cybersecurity, Micro-controller Board Design, Robotics, and Machine Learning. Industry, entrepreneurial, and teaching experience are valued, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
