Join the Aviation and Aerospace vanguard! Embry-Riddle is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Safety Science (non-tenure track) in the College of Aviation at Prescott. The role focuses on teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in aviation safety, with an expected start date of August 11, 2025.
This teaching-focused position involves approximately 4 courses per semester during fall and spring, with potential summer teaching opportunities. Research expectations are minimal, though opportunities may exist. Non-tenure faculty are eligible for future promotion based on performance and service.
The Safety Science Department offers undergraduate and graduate education in aviation and occupational safety, including minors and an MS in Safety Science. Facilities include the Robertson Aircraft Accident Investigation Lab, Aviation Safety and Security Archives, Ergonomics Lab, and Industrial Hygiene Lab.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Aviation, Safety, or a related field; candidates with an MS and significant industry experience may be considered. The candidate should demonstrate teaching excellence, participate actively in departmental and university activities, and be capable of teaching courses in safety management, ethics, accident investigation, and quantitative methods.
