Job summary

The Darden School Foundation at the University of Virginia seeks a highly motivated professional to join its Advancement team as Assistant/Associate Director of Annual Giving & Class Engagement.

The role works with the Senior Director and the Advancement and Engagement team to increase donors, dollars, and participation for the Darden Annual Fund and related priorities, managing class portfolios and volunteer leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of three years of relevant fundraising/advancement experience for the Assistant Director level and five years for the Associate Director level.
• Experience in nonprofit, foundation, or academic institutions preferred.
• In-depth understanding of philanthropy, sales, or business development; knowledge of various levels of philanthropy preferred.
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with alumni, volunteers and donors across generations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage goals and strategies for Darden’s annual giving program.
• Coordinate reunion and milestone class activities and lead engagement plans.
• Recruit, train, motivate and manage class volunteers and maintain personalized engagement.
• Identify gaps in volunteer leadership and recruit/activate new volunteers.
• Collaborate across Advancement and Engagement to advance fundraising goals and communications.
• Track fundraising results and adjust strategies based on data.
