Job summary

Columbia Country Club is seeking a full-time Assistant Pool Manager who brings energy and leadership to a vibrant pool environment. You will supervise a 30-40 member staff, ensure safety, and deliver exceptional service to members and guests.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, maintenance of facilities, and quick emergency response using Red Cross Lifeguard training. A Pool Operator Certificate is required, with outdoor work and varied hours including holidays.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard and First Aid/AED certifications required.

• Work outdoors, in varying weather conditions, with prompt reliability.
• Pool Operator Certificate is required for this role.

Responsibilities

We are looking to expand our team by adding an energetic and dedicated full-time Assistant Pool Manager. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, effective communication abilities, and a strong commitment to working as part of a team.

Please review the following job duties:

• People Management: Assist in the supervision and delegation of tasks for a team of 30-40 staff members. Adress questions and concerns appropriately and assist with management matters as needed / directed by the upper management team.


• Ensure Safety: Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area and participants to prevent accidents and injuries, always prioritizing patron safety.


• Enforce Pool Rules: Observe and enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests.


• Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service by responding to member inquiries, addressing concerns, and assisting with any needs that arise during pool use.


• Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of the pool area, restrooms, and surrounding areas. Ensure the filtration system is functioning properly, and that pool chemistry is up to standard.


• Emergency Response: Respond quickly to all emergency situations, utilizing Red Cross Lifeguard training to administer first aid, CPR, and other emergency procedures.


• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and inspect pool equipment to ensure it is safe, clean, and operational.


• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other lifeguards and staff members to ensure efficient pool operations and a positive member experience.


• Facility Opening/Closing: Perform opening and closing duties for the facility, including necessary cleaning and preparation for operation.


• Other Duties: Complete other tasks as assigned by the Pool Manager or Assistant Pool Manager

Requirements

Lifeguard Certification: Current Lifeguard and First Aid/AED certification required.

Customer Service Skills: Proven history of excellent customer service and effective communication.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stay alert for extended periods, swim, and perform lifesaving techniques when necessary.

Work Environment: Ability to work in outdoor conditions with exposure to various weather elements.

Punctuality and Responsibility: Must be dependable, punctual, and able to multitask in a challenging environment. Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and major summer holidays.

Pool Operator Certificate: Having a Pool Operator Certificate is a requirement for this role.
