Inaba Foods (USA) Inc. is seeking an experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting, manage month-end close workflows, supervise accounting staff, and support our enterprise ERP transition in the U.S.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Torrance, CA, as required by company leadership. You will lead AP/AR operations, prepare journal entries, and ensure accurate reconciliations while working with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience including month-end close.
• Experience supervising accounting staff (A/P and A/R).
• Strong US GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and reconciliations.
• ERP implementation/transition experience (Dynamics 365 BC, NetSuite, SAP) preferred.
• Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop and automated expense/payroll software (ADP).
• Advanced Excel skills; VBA/Python data processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day AP/AR operations, cash applications, and billing audits.
• Lead month-end close for AP/AR team; post journal entries and accruals.
• Supervise expense management and review timecards/reports in automated systems.
• Calculate and reconcile broker commissions and trade rebates.
• Prepare audit-ready balance sheet reconciliations and monthly statements.
• Audit and reconcile storage, freight, and 3PL billing statements.
• Support ERP transition from QuickBooks Desktop to Dynamics 365 BC.
• Provide supervision, training, and guidance to AP/AR staff; lead team meetings.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Sales, and Marketing to resolve accounting issues.
