Job summary

TMS America Inc. in Torrance, CA, is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, and month-end close, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under US GAAP, manage budgeting and cash flow, ensure tax compliance, coordinate with external auditors, and mentor staff, while collaborating with headquarters in Japan and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems and QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
• Professional-level English and business-level Japanese communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support business planning.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while promoting operational efficiency and professional development.
• Reconcile complex financial accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures.
• Collaborate with headquarters in Japan and executive leadership to provide financial analysis and business recommendations.
