Job summary

Upstart is a digital‑first lender using AI to transform access to credit in the US. The Senior Manager, Asset Quality & Model Oversight leads a cross‑functional team to oversee secured lending risk, model performance, and governance, reporting to the Head of Secured Lending.

This remote role requires strong analytics, regulatory awareness, and collaboration with partners across Risk, Compliance, Credit, and Operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in financial services risk management, compliance, credit operations, asset quality, model governance, or a related control function supporting secured or asset‑backed consumer lending products.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end first‑line oversight for secured lending asset quality and model performance.
• Lead analysts and coordinate with Credit Risk, Compliance, Capital Markets, and Product to establish governance, reporting, and remediation.
• Translate findings into action by defining remediation plans, tracking issue closure, and escalating risks before they impact loan sales or regulatory readiness.
