Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Asset Protection specialist to observe activity, detect theft, and document investigations across stores. This role involves interviewing customers and contractors, reporting fraud to AP and leadership, and maintaining records of apprehensions and evidence.

Qualifications

• 1+ years retail work experience/Asset Protection or equivalent leadership experience/education preferred.
• Must be age 18+.

Responsibilities

• Observes activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity and collects investigative evidence.
• Executes required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft and documents all stages.
• Conducts external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft.
• Reports suspected fraud and policy infractions to AP and Store leadership.
• Creates and manages records for reporting apprehensions, witness statements, and disposition of recovered merchandise.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

AA/BA/BS in Criminal Justice or Business Management preferred
