Job summary

JCPenney in the United States seeks an Asset Protection professional to detect theft, investigate incidents, and document evidence across stores. You will conduct interviews with customers and contractors, report fraud to AP and leadership, and maintain records of investigations.

You will travel to stores as needed, support store leadership in safety topics, and interact with local law enforcement. A High School diploma and 1+ years in asset protection or security are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years retail work experience/Asset Protection/Security or equivalent leadership experience/education preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent work experience, AA/BA/BS in Criminal Justice or Business Management preferred.
• Must be age 18+.

Responsibilities

• Observe activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity and collect evidence; document stages of investigations.
• Conduct external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft.
• Report suspected fraud and policy violations to AP or Store leadership; communicate outcomes to leadership.
• Create and manage records for apprehensions, witness statements, evidence, and disposition of recovered merchandise.
• Travel to stores as needed and maintain professional relationships with local law enforcement.
• Analyze intelligence on individuals and booster groups involved in theft and fraud.
• Attend court hearings as required and update files with outcomes.
