Job summary

The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) is seeking an Asset Manager in Seattle to oversee our portfolio of properties, working with housing management, maintenance, and facilities staff to maximize social and financial returns. You will plan capital improvements, manage budgets, monitor energy usage, and ensure compliance with regulations while coordinating with executives.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in asset management or related fields, strong English communication, and experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of asset management experience, or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of fair housing, real estate finance, property management, and real estate development.
  • Excellent writer and verbal communicator, and able to effectively communicate in English.
  • Self-motivated with effective interpersonal and collaborative working style.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Work with site and facilities staff to address emerging major maintenance concerns and develop routine preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Plan capital improvement projects, including budgeting, securing bids, selecting contractors, and documenting work.
  • Ensure portfolio meets owner physical quality standards and long-term health of portfolio.
  • Collaborate with compliance, site, and finance teams to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor energy usage, conduct energy audits, and report benchmarking results.
  • Oversee leasing of commercial spaces and coordinate with third-party brokers when needed.
  • Provide regular written reports to senior management on asset management activities.
