Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago seeks a Technical Software Support Lead to provide day-to-day production support for Asset Management Front Office and trade routing applications. The role leads the NTAM Production Service Delivery team, coordinating with upstream and downstream teams and stakeholders, including after-hours on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a financial institution is required.
• 7–10 years in a technical role within financial services is required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and technical skills with juggling multiple priorities.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to business and technology teams.
• Experience with incident management, ticket workflows and escalations.
• Proficiency with Oracle SQL, Unix/Linux, SQL Server and Python.
• Familiarity with Azure, cloud technologies, JSON, .NET and Java.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support under the direction of the Support Manager.
• Offer L2/L3 support, monitor production workflows and apply expert knowledge.
• Review and resolve production issues, including job failures and code fixes.
• Collaborate with business teams to analyze inquiries while upholding IT controls.
• Build relationships with IT and business stakeholders and deliver effective support.
• Coordinate with global teams, open tickets, perform root-cause analyses, resolve issues.
• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call coverage for critical incidents.
• Improve application supportability through continuous service improvement.
• Develop knowledge of NT systems and products using reference materials.
• Represent IT professionally and uphold NT's customer service values.
