Job Description

J.P. Morgan Asset Management Private Equity Group (PEG), with $34 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2024, is comprised of more than 70 professionals globally. The team is active across all private equity investment types, styles, stages of business development, industry sectors, and geographical locations, operating in all market environments. They manage diversified funds in Global Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Venture Capital, Co-Investment Funds, Secondary Funds, Impact Funds, separate accounts, and a 1940 Act Evergreen fund. Their global client base includes pension plans, insurance companies, endowments & foundations, family offices, trusts, and high-net worth individuals. The team collaborates with consulting firms and third-party advisors.

Job Summary

As a Vice President in the Private Equity Operational Due Diligence team within J.P. Morgan Asset Management Private Equity Group, you will enhance our operational due diligence process. You will work with PEG deal teams, Information Management, and Investor Relations teams to assess and report on third-party private equity managers and co-investments. You will ensure processes align with industry best practices and handle inbound operational due diligence inquiries.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build and support the operational due diligence process for traditional investment managers, secondaries, and co-investments.
  • Collaborate with deal teams performing investment due diligence.
  • Develop and distribute operational questionnaires across various investment strategies and products.
  • Request, review, and archive relevant documentation using CRM tools/Deal Cloud.
  • Participate in operational due diligence meetings with third-party managers, evaluating operational risks such as organizational infrastructure, counterparties, service providers, valuation, cybersecurity, compliance, and regulation.
  • Review and score responses to operational questionnaires.
  • Work with governance, risk, compliance, and internal audit teams.
  • Represent the firm to C-level executives at third-party fund managers.
  • Present analyses, findings, and opinions at investment and governance meetings, and during client pitches.
  • Coordinate with operations, accounting, compliance, valuations, and technology teams to implement best practices.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in operational due diligence, auditing investment products, or working in asset management operations or audit departments.
  • Ability to enhance and automate operational due diligence processes.
  • Good understanding of financial markets, security types, investment strategies, and fund structures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, investigative, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate initiative and confidence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 40 Act registered funds is a plus.
