Job summary

Mount Pleasant Waterworks seeks an Asset Management Department Head to lead the utility's asset management program and oversee infrastructure lifecycle, work management, and data governance. This role aligns data analytics, financial planning, and operations to optimize asset performance and cost-effective service delivery.

With substantial latitude, the position supervises a multidisciplinary team, partners with Engineering and Finance on CIP/O&M, and drives risk mitigation through robust asset

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years in public utilities, infrastructure operations, or asset mgmt; 3-5 years in supervision.
• Certifications such as CAMA, CAMP, CMRP, IAM desirable to possess or attain.
• Experience with EAM/CMMS (Maximo, Cityworks, Lucity, SAP) and data-driven forecasting.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater operations; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for asset management and LOS goals.
• Direct centralized work management and maintenance coordination across sites.
• Own EAM system governance, data integrity, and system optimization.
• Lead training and onboarding for staff to maximize EAM adoption.
• Partner on CIP planning, O&M projects, risk mitigation, and lifecycle analysis.
• Perform project management activities from requirements to reporting.
• Recruit, mentor, and supervise a multidisciplinary team.
• Establish KPIs for asset health and work execution; report on performance.
• Participate in regional and national asset management forums to stay current.
