Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Cincinnati is seeking an Accountant to manage fixed assets, depreciation, and asset dispositions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting policies. You will work cross-functionally with operations and finance to maintain reliable asset records.

Responsibilities include CIP reconciliation, monthly journal entries, and preparing Capital Expenditure reports; you will present at executive meetings and support external audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance is required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting is essential.
• Experience with fixed assets, depreciation, and general ledger close is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process asset transfers, disposals, and additions for all Rumpke locations.
• Administer the Capital Expenditure and Fixed Asset Tracker databases.
• Maintain files for each project including copies of all invoices.
• Reconcile Construction in Process (CIP) monthly to the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly journal entries as needed.
• Prepare and distribute monthly reports of Capital Expenditures, CIP, vehicle overhauls, and a roll forward of all fixed assets.
• Attend and present information at Capital Expenditure meetings with executives and area managers.
• Prepare annual external financial audit schedules.
• Maintain company and departmental operating standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in processes and implement changes as required.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by promoting good relationships with employees, co-workers, and management.
• Perform job duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
