Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Director of Accounting in Cincinnati, OH to lead the accounting function, ensure accuracy of financial records, and support strategic objectives. You will oversee the close, controls, and team development while partnering with finance leadership, operations, and external advisors.

The role requires 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership, in-depth GAAP knowledge, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership/management.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL, and collections.
• Lead monthly/quarterly/annual close and produce financial statements.
• Manage external audits, internal controls, and financial reporting packages.
• Drive process improvements in accounting systems and controls.
