Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling, headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking an Accountant to manage fixed assets, depreciation, and related reporting. The role requires accuracy, cross-functional collaboration, and strong accounting knowledge.

The position supports capitalization, asset transfers, disposals, and CIP tracking, with monthly journal entries and audit preparation. Travel between offices may be required; overtime may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Previous fixed asset experience strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process asset transfers, disposals, and additions for all Rumpke locations.
• Maintain Capital Expenditure and Fixed Asset Tracker databases and CIP
• Prepare monthly journal entries as needed.
• Prepare and distribute monthly reports of Capital Expenditures and fixed assets.
• Attend and present information at Capital Expenditure meetings with executives and area managers.
• Prepare annual external financial audit schedules.
