Job summary

Coleg y Cymoedd is seeking an Assessor in Carpentry for Work Based Learning at Ystrad Mynach Campus. You will plan, manage and review assessments, ensuring learners understand the process and receive constructive feedback.

You will track progress, develop assessment schedules and liaise with employers, awarding organisations and stakeholders to support learner development. All staff are expected to safeguard learners and uphold our inclusive values.

Qualifications

• As an Assessor in Carpentry, you will plan, manage, and review assessments, ensuring learners understand the assessment process and receive constructive feedback.
• You will track learner progress, develop assessment schedules, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high teaching and assessment standards.
• Additionally, you will liaise with employers, awarding organisations, and relevant stakeholders to support learner development.
• You will also communicate effectively with customers and employees, support learners throughout their qualifications, and promote the college.
• All staff employed at Coleg y Cymoedd have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of learners, and all those working at the College are expected to uphold this commitment.
• As part of our safer recruitment processes, all new starters must successfully complete the required pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check. For roles that involve direct interaction with learners, registration with the Education Workforce Council is also a mandatory requirement.
