Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Assembly Technician to support prototype and pre-production system builds in a mechanical lab environment in Sunnyvale, CA. You will build, modify, and rework assemblies from released drawings and BOMs while supporting engineering during a critical production period.

Responsibilities include ensuring accurate documentation, following build procedures, and maintaining the lab. This is a 2-3 month on-site contract with daily meals and a comprehensive benefits package.

Duration: 2-3 month contract with possible extension

Job Details

We are seeking hands‑on Assembly Technicians to support prototype and pre‑production system builds in a mechanical lab environment. This role will focus on building, modifying, and reworking assemblies from released drawings and BOMs while supporting engineering teams during a critical production period.

Key Responsibilities

• Build mechanical and electromechanical assemblies from released drawings and BOMs
• Support prototype, press, and pre‑production builds
• Perform assembly rework and modifications as needed
• Follow engineering documentation and established build procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation using Jira, Confluence, and related tools
• Help organize and maintain the mechanical lab environment
• Identify and elevate build issues when appropriate

Requirements

• Experience assembling mechanical or electromechanical systems
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and BOMs
• Experience supporting prototype or production builds
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with cable assemblies, wire harnesses, server systems, automation equipment, semiconductor equipment, or PCB-based systems is preferred
• PCB experience is a plus but not required
